Hello Lovlies, hope you are all well - and if you're in the UK that you're making the most of the Bank Holiday Weekend?
Today has been the best day weather wise - fresh and bright with scudding clouds
We decided yesterday we fancied a little trip to Winchester, it's about 40 minutes from us in the car through picturesque villages along the A31 - Austen Country!!
We started our walk along the River Itchen. It was extremely high and fast flowing today
Around the walls of the City
I still find it hard to believe that this wall stood in Medieval times - think of all the people who have walked past it, touched it - simply amazing - I LoVe history.
Past Wolversley Castle and a sneaky peek in through the Bishop of Winchester's front gate
Winchester College
Fabulous ancient doorways......
.........and arches
Until we reached The Cathedral - stunning architecture!
What a window!!!
If you would like to read more about the Cathedral and its amazing history (15 centuries worth) pop over to its website
And there was still lots of colourful Olympic bunting fluttering in the breeze
I've also managed lots of crocheting over the weekend - Yay!! but I shall save pictures of that until Tuesday.
