One A Day - Tuesday Tallies

It's Tuesday Again, so time for Tuesday Tallies over at Gingerbread Girl.

I've had an extremely productive week this week on the crochet front.

I've completed another 14 rounds on my granny shawl so now up to a total of 32 - half way me thinks. Another 30 and a border and the shawl will be complete.

Here's a little close up too.

Make sure you go and check out the other Tuesday Tallies.

Sunday In The City

Hello Lovlies, hope you are all well - and if you're in the UK that you're making the most of the Bank Holiday Weekend?

Today has been the best day weather wise - fresh and bright with scudding clouds

We decided yesterday we fancied a little trip to Winchester, it's about 40 minutes from us in the car through picturesque villages along the A31 - Austen Country!!

We started our walk along the River Itchen.  It was extremely high and fast flowing today

Around the walls of the City

I still find it hard to believe that this wall stood in Medieval times - think of all the people who have walked past it, touched it - simply amazing - I LoVe history.

Past Wolversley Castle and a sneaky peek in through the Bishop of Winchester's front gate

Winchester College

Fabulous ancient doorways......

.........and arches

Until we reached The Cathedral - stunning architecture!

What a window!!!

If you would like to read more about the Cathedral and its amazing history (15 centuries worth) pop over to its website

And there was still lots of colourful Olympic bunting fluttering in the breeze

I've also managed lots of crocheting over the weekend - Yay!! but I shall save pictures of that until Tuesday.

So...........

How many of you are enjoying The Great British Bake Off?

2nd episode aired last night - oh I do LoVe Mr Hollywood!! (and the baking is pretty good too!)

Talking of British, I took part in LaaLaa's All Things British Swap.

I was paired up with Abbie from Arobella Creations and yesterday Mr Postie delivered my parcel.

Lots of goodies wrapped in pretty paper

Handmade crochet flower brooch and pretty button and bead bracelet.

'Afternoon Tea' magnets, British made threads and a red postbox keyring

Sweeties, a pencil, lovely napkins, a tape measure and some red, white and blue twine and tags.

Thank you so much Abbie! I hope you've received your parcel too!

A couple of weeks ago I started selling some of my Scrabble Art in a gorgeous shop in Hartley Wintney and this week I got my first commission.

Lovely Mum & Dad gifted us these fabulous shelves for our living room.

Thought they needed a little prettification but didn't really want to repaint them so I dug out some of my GoRgEoUs Cath Kidston Washi tape and stuck it along the front edge of each shelf

Simple yet very effective - LoVe this tape!!

And here they are in their new home on the living room wall.

Now, as many of you know, I am struggling to find my crochet enthusiasm of late so in an attempt to find it I have sign up to Creatives Unite organised by the lovely Anna @ the lovely Miss Beatrix, if you haven't visited Anna's blog before please do go and check it out!

Going to leave you now with some Geranium love (yes, they've finally flowered) and this funny white spider making her home amongst the Buddliea.

One A Day - Tuesday Tallies

Tuesdays come round pretty quickly don't they? :)  I have to be honest, I'm struggling a bit to drum up enthusiam to hook at the moment.  I don't think I'm the only one (which is good to know) but I'm going to blame the weather this week.

It's been too hot and sticky to face anything other than a bit of this

Saying that I have focused on my shawl this week and have managed to complete another 5 rounds so at least I have managed something

More Tuesday Tallies can be found here.  Hope my crochet mojo returns this week as I just keep adding lovely things to my make list and it would be nice to complete a few of them :)

One a Day - Tuesday Tallies

Hello Lovlies, thank you for stopping by but I'm afraid there is not much to see in the way of crochet this week, naughty naughty!

I have managed one round on my shawl and only two rows on my rainbow scarf
I'm blaming an extremely busy week last week for lack of progress...

I'm hoping to make up for it this week :)

To see more Tuesday Tallies hop on over to Carole's

I do however have a few sweet new crochet bits in my Etsy shop so be sure to pop over for a ganders

Apologies

Goodness!  I can't believe it's been almost a week since my last post.  I do apologise.  Last week was just crazy busy!!

Here it is in pictures

Hubby celebrated a birthday on Wednesday, so Monday and Tuesday were busy spent wrapping gifts and getting a cake etc.

A handmade gift, all our hand prints

Wednesday also saw us head up to the City for the Olympics

Luckily the rain held off

No10 was festooned in colourful bunting

Horse Guards Parade and the Mall where the Beach Volley Ball was staged

The Olympic countdown clock now displays the date and time

A fab day was had by all.

The end of the week was spent enjoying the garden and staying at Mum and Dads whilst hubby did some much needed decorating.

On Sunday we headed for Waverley again for a stroll in the GlOrIoUs morning sunshine

Some sweet black calves in the field next to the river

Pretty wildflowers

and fading Cow Parsley

Hope you've all had a lovely week and made the most of the sunshine
