Jar Of Love Swap

Two posts in one day, wow!

Very excited about this one!  Last month I was paired up the the very lovely Shelley from All 4 Meggy Moo in Katie's Jar of Love swap.

After lots of blog stalking and a few emails, we filled our jars and popped them in the post yesterday.
Mine arrived at lunchtime.........................

I unwrapped the paper and opened the box to be greeted with gorgeous yellow tissue paper and a note

Careful unwrapping of the tissue revealed the most prettiest crochet jar cover I've ever seen!

OOh and I was soooo spoilt by Shelley! My jar was crammed full of wonderful things!

Crochet flower brooch and crochet jug cover both made by Shelley and some lovely heart cookie cutters

Twine, sparkly beads, crochet heart and handmade needle case

11 StUnNiNg vintage glass beads in a pretty tin

A beautiful glass charm to hang at the window to make rainbows in the room and some sweet dotty cake cases.

Thank you so so much Shelley for my fabulous jar! I hope yours has arrived safely and you are as thrilled as I am!!  And thank you Katie for organising such a super swap!

Much Love

One A Day - Tuesday Tallies

Ooh I am LoViNg my current one a day project - my Rainbow Granny Stripe Scarf.

The colours are making me very cheery indeed, especially now that the rain has returned.  I am now up to 58 rows and it's coming along nicely.

I have been a bit naughty tho' and started another project too :)  I won some BeAuTiFuL aran yarn on Ebay last week and it arrived yesterday.

I couldn't resist trying it out.  Oooh it's LuSh!  Sooooo thick.

This is going to be a shawl and part of my Year of Projects.  The wonderful Julie @ A Tale From Toadstool House is making this shawl at the moment in a fabulous blue colour and it's such an easy pattern I decided to give it a whirl.

Do go and check out other projects from One A Day

Weekend Roundup

Sunshine and showers best describes the weather round these parts.  Making the most of the sunny weather when it's here then snuggling down when the rain sets in.

On Friday afternoon we headed to my sisters BeAuTiFuL home for tea and cake.  She and my brother-in-law have a gorgeous garden too so here are a few floral snaps..................

Loving this vibrant red!

Not seen many butterflies this year :(

Saturday was spent pottering about at home, crocheting, watching the Cycling Road Race for the Olympics.  Also met up with a lady who wants me to sell my Scrabble Art in her shop, which is very exciting - more to follow on that one :)

Then Sunday morning, as the weather was half decent, we headed off to Hayling Island.

It was lovely and quiet but rather windy!!

One a Day - Tuesday Tallies - Ta Dah!

Yay it's Tuesday! That can only mean one thing - time to like up with Carole over at Gingerbread Girl for our Tuesday Tallies

This week, I have been a busy little beaver on my cushion cover project!

Just finishing off the last few rounds on Sunday, then it was time to sew in all then ends........

Add a few buttons, And............... Ta Dah!  One completed cushion cover! I'm so chuffed with it!

Here it is looking lovely on my sofa!

Also looking pretty from behind!

So my finished tallies are 36 three round grannies on the front and one 18 round granny on the back.  I used a 4mm hook and the yarns I used were Sirdar Bonus DK in Hayfield White and Iced Pink and Stylecraft DK in Meadow.

I used the standard granny square pattern which can be found all over the Internet.

So it's onto the next project.  I think I'm going to complete my Rainbow Granny Stripe Scarf next, a few rows each day will work up in no time at all

Here's where I'm at with it - 30 rows, 2 of each colour. 7 colours in total.

I'm off to see how you've all be getting on!

Hello Sunshine!

I hope you're all experiencing this GlOrIoUs weather!  Doesn't the sun just make the world seem a better place?

We headed back to Chawton today to enjoy a spot of lunch and then a lovely walk down to St Nicholas'

Such amazing blue skies!

It was so cool and tranquil inside the church, the sun pouring through the stained glass was simply stunning!

Behind the little church Jane Austen's sister, Cassandra and also their Mother, Cassandra lie.  I find it a little sad that Jane is not with them here in this beautiful place that she loved so much.

BeAuTiFuL stone work

Oh look, there's my dream home again! :)

Warning!  Cow Parsley overload coming up!

But the really are so so delicate and pretty I can't resist them!

The weather looks set to stay with us here in the south for a little bit longer, yay! Some hooky time in the garden tomorrow me thinks!
