What a Lucky Girl I Am!

Thank you all so so much for your birthday wishes yesterday.  I had a wonderful day and I was spoilt rotten! I was told - 'well you're only 30 once!'

Lots of tea was drunk, lots of cake was eaten and of course presents were opened.

From hubby and the Little Sweetpeas I was treated to a very special present

So I can now be found on Instagram :) pop by and say hello, my button is on the right sidebar.

From my lovely sister, brother-in-law and little Florence

Beautiful bamboo needles, knitting bag (reminds me of Ada's wonderful fabrics!) and a fabulous book.  I have mastered casting on :)

Cath Kidston loveliness from my In Laws

And from my wonderful parents

This crochet hook and case is from 1907 - AdOrE it! I wonder how many crochet items have been whipped up with this!

Utterly gorgeous felt handbag

Can't wait to make some things from this book

And the new kindle paperwhite (hopefully arriving before Christmas)

See........... Totally and utterly spoilt. And that's not all, Mum and Dad are taking hubby and me out on Friday afternoon/evening but I don't know where we are going - it's a surprise, sooooooo excited!

Hope you're all having a LoVeLy week.

27th November 1982

On this day 30 years ago, I made my appearance into the world.

I just want to thank my wonderful Mum and Dad for all they have done (and still do) for me.
Words will never be able to express my gratitude!

Now........ Let's drink tea and eat cake! :)

Snowflake Ta-Dah

Hello my lovelies, how are we all?

It's pretty cold, grey and miserable here today, perfect weather for snuggling down, eating something comforting and watching a family film :)

Mmm, porridge with bananas and raisins
The snowflakes are now blocked and hung

Instead of hanging them bunting style, I decided to decopatch a wooden coat hanger with pretty pink/red/green paisley papers and hang them off it.

In a couple of weeks time when I decorate the house for Christmas they will take pride of place in the front window.

Sorry about the poor photo quality in this post, the light here is terrible!

Hanger close up
Mistletoe leaves are currently on my hook, awaiting their white berries.  These will then hang on my vintage mirrors along with some crochet holly.

After seeing lots of these little candle holders on Pinterest I decided to make my own using Pride & Prejudice papers

I do so LoVe candlelight, but this is battery powered candle light, pretty good huh?

Right-o, off to prepare tonight's dinner and cuddle up with the Little Sweetpea's on the sofa, possibly with something hooky in tow.

Let It Snow............

..........the crochet kind, you understand!

My hexagon blanket has had to take a back seat in favour of festive crochet projects I'm afraid.

This week I have been whipping up snowflakes for the living room window.

They are blocking as we speak.

I used the lovely Lucy's pattern for the top ones and the big one was made using Sarah London's 2012 snowflake pattern.

Snow Bite anyone?

How have I only just discovered these? They are Christmas Mini Eggs, yummy!

Also managed another snood using the pattern from Annaboo's House.  I had some Sirdar Indie yarn left over and it's gorgeously chunky, perfect for this pattern.

And baked a boiled fruit loaf for hubby to take to work.

Hope you're all having a lovely week!

Lest We Forget

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

A Little Bit Of Everything!

Ok, I couldn't calm my racing mind (see here) - thank you for your very lovely comments, apparently I am not alone :)

So I decided to start everything! Currently I am working on...............

my very lovely rainbow hexie blanket

a fabulously clashy red and pink granny stripe cowl/infinity scarf

I had a little go at some pretty jar/votive covers

I started the Drops wrist warmers (then wished I hadn't as I struggled with the pattern!)

made a few more poppies

and I have completed one pennant for my Christmas Bunting.

Phew! I hope to have some completed by next week.

I also won a lovely giveaway at the end of last week, held by the lovely Ellie at Feltabulous, would you like to see what I won? Of course you would!

Thank you so much Ellie, I LoVe my prize!
