Sewing In No Time

Is the name of my new book - a bargain off the good old Bay of E.

Now I have a confession, I have not taken my dinky little sewing machine out of its box yet - naughty naughty I know! But I've bought this book in the vain hope to spur me on but these things are rather tricky to accomplish with two teeny children!

This really is a GoRgEoUs book, with lots of simple, yet beautiful projects that, apparently, can be completed in a weekend!

This ruffle trim caught my eye, as I have two similar looking lamps in my living room that could do with prettifying. Plus I managed to snap up this lovely ribbon from the charity shop today. 21 metres for £3, bargain!!

These stunning cushions are also on my list of things to make!

And this pretty peg bag!

And this noticeboard.

Think perhaps I am being a tad ambitious with the sewing but it's good to have something to aim for, right?

We have had glorious blues skies today, dotted with whiter than white fluffy clouds.

My passionflower has another flower, stunning!

I have been a bit slack on the crafty front of late but after seeing an image of something Vanessa is making, I thought I'd have a little play about with some yarn to see if I could recreate her little circle combining a star and hearts.  I don't think I did a bad job without a pattern! Just LoVe those little hearts!

Talking of hearts, I've completed a few little strings of mini heart bunting.

Next on my hit list is a spot of baking, as I have been neglecting that too, such a naughty mummy!
I've seen a scrummy cake over at Gems that I shall be having a go at this week!

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last couple of posts, please keep them coming, I love to read your sweet thoughts!

  3. I have a little bit of an addiction to crafting/fashion/interiors type coffee table books. Thing is, I tend to just just read and accumulate them, rather than actually doing anything with them!

  4. The notice board could be a no-sew really, just use a glue gun? I saw a gorgeous heart shaped notice board in red gingham! My heart exploded, and then I saw the price!

  6. Ha, I'm afraid I do as Lakota says...I have SOOOOoooomany books but seldom do anything out of them, they're for inspiration really. a bit like my cookery books which I have quite a few (see my much earlier post on books!) but I use them as jumping off points.

Love your little crochet hstar, I'm a very unadventurous crocheteer I'm afraid! Good luck with the sewing!Lx

  8. I'm popping over from Shelley's place to say hello. I think you two are gonna make great jar of love swap partners. I never really learned to sew but wish I had -- I used to cross-stitch all the time but lately crochet has taken over my life. Literally, yarn and bits everywhere! You did a great job with recreating that pattern. Have a wonderful week. Tammy

  9. I look forward to seeing your completed lamps..the ribbon is sure pretty.
I just love the yo-yo cushion cover and the peg bag.
I have to get my sewing machine out as well..I have some bunting for the backyard that needs doing. Trouble is we are sorting out the second room for the little one..so there are lots of boxes currently in the way (slowly making their way up to the attic :P).
    Happy Sewing and Baking!
