Hexagon LoVe

As promised, I'm back to show you a new WIP.

Whilst perusing blogland and the interweb in general, I've noticed a LOT of hexagon love!

Here are a pick of some of my favourites

lots and lots and lots of crocheted ones

So I decided I needed to be in on the hexie LoVe and my main inspiration is Hazel's lovely, colourful hexagons

and I've started a rainbow hexagon blanket.

Simply loving the rainbow colours at the moment!

Once my rainbow granny stripe scarf is complete this will become my new one a day project.

Do you share the hexie love?

One A Day - Tuesday Tallies

Linking up with Carole again for this weeks Tuesday Tallies.

Had rather a manic week last week, so not my time for craft and crochet :( but I did acquire a gorgeous niece which more than makes up for it!!!

I did, however, manage a few more rows on my granny scarf (5 to be precise) so not tooooo bad I suppose.  But I've also started a new project (tut tut I hear you say) but more on that later in the week.

The weather is starting to turn here and its getting rather chilly so I better get a move on this week if I want to wear this scarf this winter :) and add a splash of colour to the dreary days!

Make sure you hop on over to Carole's lovely blog to check out more Tuesday tallies.

Vintage Enid and Baby Gifts

Good Morning Lovelies!

Mummy, Daddy and Baby Florence came home last night and I am pleased to report all is hunky dory!

I made a couple of gifts for the new arrival.

Some sweet pink heart bunting to hang in her new room (can be found in my Etsy shop also - made to order in your choice of colours)

and also her name in scrabble pieces on pretty rose paper.

On to other things now.  Last Wednesday, an eagerly awaited eBay win arrived.....................................

I had been searching high and low for these particular stories for a while now and when they came up for auction altogether I couldn't believe my luck.

These were my favourite Enid books from my childhood and I wanted them to read to the Sweetpeas when they get bigger and now I have them, sitting perfectly on my bookshelf in the lounge.

What are your favourite childhood stories?

Smackerels, Elevenses and Teas......

..........is the first chapter in a 'new to me' book.

Whilst away in Dorset last week my sister in law came to visit.

She found this charming recipe book in a vintage book store in Swanage and bought it home for me (knowing how much the children and myself LoVe Winnie the Pooh)

This copy is from the early 1970s and has some fabulous little recipes in it!

All accompanied by a sweet drawing and a quote from Winnie the Pooh.

Talking of tea, would you like to see my 'new to me' tea set?

Of course you would!

Isn't it beautiful?
The palest mint green, gold fronds and the most darling pink roses! I am in LoVe!

The set comprises of 5 trios, a stunning cake/sandwich plate and a milk jug and sugar bowl and is made by Hamilton.

I acquired this stunning tea set from the very lovely Claire at Our Favourite Things who was having a bit of a clear out.  Thank you so much Claire!

Right, I must get baking and pop the kettle on - would anyone like to join me?
