Giving Thanks.........

For several years now our family has loved celebrating Thanksgiving (a beautiful get together just before Christmas)

Now Thanksgiving falls on the 4th Thursday in November so this year its on the 22nd.  What with both me and my sister now with wee ones we celebrated our Thanksgiving yesterday (Sunday)

Wonderful Mum and Dad hosted and I supplied the pud! Here are a few snaps from the day!

Pumpkins and Gourds galore!

Stunning orange roses

Beautiful turkey dinner with sides of sweet potatoes and spinach gratin! Yummy!

Scrummy Pumpkin Cheesecake (recipe courtesy of Pinterest!)

Thank you so so much for a fabulous day Mum and Dad, love you lots!

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving?

  2. My husband is from Chicago so we should celebrate, but with the kids at school and husband & I at work we tend to give it a miss. We always 'do' 4th July though - good excuse for a BBQ! XX

  13. Sounds wonderful Victoria, yes we too have so much to give thanks for. I do wish it was something we grew up with.My sister lives in NYC and she has adopted this tradition wholeheartedly. Sometimes, I think it would take the pressure off families and the whole present frenzy of Christmas where it was all about celebrating family and spending quality time together over a good meal xox Looks like you all had a fabulous and yummy time xox Penelope

  18. I suppose we do Harvest Festival, which let's face it, began so that we could celebrate the fact that 'all is safely gathered in, 'ere the winter storms begin' Perhaps we should take the festival home as well as schools and churches!
