A Hidden Gem and Reasons To Be Cheerful

Hello Lovelies, hope you are all having a gorgeous weekend!
We actually had beautiful sunshine this morning so we made the most of it and headed to a favourite spot.  I can't believe I haven't blogged about this special place before but we haven't been for a while.

This place is so special, so tranquil, so undisturbed by the public it shall remain anonymous :)

As we approached a herd of pretty black cows were sunning themselves in the field.  Some had even ventured into the babbling stream.

Down the bumpity lane we drove.......

as the river came into view

along the grand driveway

Every time we come here I feel we are stepping onto the pages of a Jane Austen novel

bathed in GlOrIoUs summer sunshine

Amazing columns

The view from the lawn, very imposing!

the beautiful view of the river from the top of the stone steps

Blue skies and fluffy clouds, perfect!

Is Dr Who hiding somewhere?

No, it's just us!

This place is used for open air operas and plays during the summer months, so we assumed this was a prop :)

I couldn't do a countryside post without the obligatory cow parsley now, could I?

Stunning, fragrant roses

Pretty pink buds

Loving the zingy lime green against the railway sleepers

My Sweetpeas!

The neighbours!

Our next home?

And now, if you've made it this far, it's Sunday so time for my Reasons to be Cheerful!

  13. What a peaceful place this looks like. It is definately somewhere I'd love to go. The columns look like some of the ancient ruins in Greece. I love the purple and pink flowers. Flowers are the magic in our lives.

What a great herb garden box..what kind of herbs are you growing in there? I was growing some coriander in the greenhouse, it was looking all lovely and then the snails ate it all over one night (pesky critters!).

Glad to see you enjoyed the sun while it was out..here is hoping for a lot more to come...
